Need a Ph.D. mass spectrometrist?
I’m looking for a job, but I’m also open to shorter-term contract work!
I’ve worked primarily with plants, namely African Violets and carnivorous plants, such as Drosera capensis.
To date, I have one published first-author manuscript, with another two submitted. In total, I’ve (co)-authored nine publications. My graduate work with Prof. Rachel Martin (UC Irvine) focused on untargeted metabolomics of plants, while my undergraduate work with Prof. Jennifer Prescher (UC Irvine) focused on the development of bioorthogonal probes.
I run all my own experiments, process my own samples, and use a combination of open-source software (mzMine, SIRIUS, Metaboanalyst, and R) to analyze my own data. I also have a lot of experience helping others learn how to do the same!
I want to work on weird, optionally challenging, and most importantly, interesting projects.
Contract Work
Basic Data Analysis
Have access to data but don’t know how to analyze it to find answers to your questions? I’ll provide basic summary statistics based on provided metadata, and find the most interesting features of your dataset.
Experimental Consulting
Have access to instrumentation, but unsure where to start? We can meet (remotely), confidentially discuss your experimental plans, and I will provide detailed guidance and protocols for sample preparation and data collection.
Full In-Person Sample Processing and Data Analysis
Want me to come prepare or just run samples on your instruments? Want me to analyze the collected data? Just have a short project in mind but need someone with experience to do it?
